How it works

See suggestions before applying them.

Check

Check spelling and clarity in the editor. Basic checks do not require an installed model.

Review

Generated sentence edits have tracked-changes previews. This does not promise a tracked-changes view of a whole-document rewrite.

Decide

Accept or reject individual suggestions, manage a personal dictionary and snooze rules.

Eligible sentence fixes can use Apple’s on-device model when Apple Intelligence is enabled and available on a supported Mac, with local Ollama fallback.

Another version

Ask for a rewrite when you need one.

Tone

Request a document rewrite with separately installed Ollama and a suitable local model.

Prompt

Generate two optimized prompt options using local Ollama, then review the result.

Selection actions

Improve, rephrase, translate, adjust tone, shorten, expand or give your own instruction using local Ollama.

Document rewrites above 20,000 characters and selection actions above 6,000 characters are refused rather than silently shortened. Model output varies; review it before applying.

Supported cross-app fields

Get help where the field supports it.

Enable Assistant and grant Accessibility permission to check qualifying focused editable fields in other apps. Press Control+Option+Command+S for Fix Word at Caret. Shortcut registration can fail if another app already owns it; Settings reports the failure.

Support varies by app and field. Some hosts, including Microsoft Office and terminals, offer Copy only. Recognized secure fields are refused, but custom controls may not expose usable security signals.

Assistant polls qualifying focused fields once per second. Turn Assistant off to stop polling and clear external context. Hide until tomorrow only hides the tab.

Privacy · Local profile

Keep the words that fit.

The local voice profile adapts deterministic writing checks using learned vocabulary and suggestion feedback. It does not train a personal model, and you can erase it in Settings.

The editor holds writing in memory. Copy or export work you want to keep before closing the app.
